Eden Runners at the 1st Road Race Championship -Chernobyl 10k

Eden Runners is a small,friendly running clubbased in Penrith, Cumbria. We welcome runners of all standards, from beginners who want to get fit to seasoned competitors who want to run faster.You don’t have to be super-fit or super-fast to run with Eden Runners – we tailor our activities to meet your needs, whatever your speed. If you want to get fitter or faster and would like to train with other people, then please come along. If you're not sure, e-mail us

Eden Runners Membership

Good News everyone! 2011-12 Subs are the same as last year ,£15 and are due on (or before) 15 October.

Download a Membership Form and hand it to Alan on wed night training or post to the address on the form

Membership can now also be paid online via PayPal.You can use your PayPal account or use a Debit or Credit Card.Click on the link below.Unfortunately paypal now charge us 80p per transaction and this will be added to the £15. If you are a new member or have change your details from last year please fill out a Membership form.

In July, Dave, Julia, Wack and I are taking part in the London to Paris off-road cycle challenge. In order to raise sponsor money (target �1,000) we will be hosting various events in the coming months, the first of which is a Quiz Night to be held at the Rugby Club on the 1st April. All money raised will go directly to the British Heart Foundation, as we are covering all our own costs for accommodation etc. The Quiz Night is open to everyone family, friends, workmates etc. the more the merrier. Tickets will go on sale in the next couple of weeks priced at �6.00 per head which is to include food, chips and sandwiches!

Where we run

We meet for a club run every Wednesday evening at Penrith Rugby Club, Winters Park..

In winter we start our session at 6.45pm with a warm-up and stretch indoors. Then we organise runs of varying distances and speeds around the streets of Penrith. There are excellent changing and shower facilities at the Rugby Club and we then meet informally in the club bar.

On summer evenings we are more likely to go out into some of the glorious countryside nearby or further into the Pennines and the Lakeland fells. Then we usually find a pub.

What we do
Eden Runners have many different interests, including:

fell running

road running

cross-country

orienteering

mountain marathons

adventure racing

triathlon and other multi-sport events

We also organise a number of successful events through the year, including:

Haweswater half marathon (March)

Blencathra fell race

New streets race (December)

We are also a very sociable bunch - after our Wednesday night run we wind down with a drink at the Rugby Club. At the weekend meny of our members can be seen taking part in many of the local road and fell races in and around the area
