Good News everyone! 2012-13 Subs are the same as last year ,£15 and are due on (or before) 15 October.

In July, Dave, Julia, Wack and I are taking part in the London to Paris off-road cycle challenge. In order to raise sponsor money (target �1,000) we will be hosting various events in the coming months, the first of which is a Quiz Night to be held at the Rugby Club on the 1st April. All money raised will go directly to the British Heart Foundation, as we are covering all our own costs for accommodation etc. The Quiz Night is open to everyone family, friends, workmates etc. the more the merrier. Tickets will go on sale in the next couple of weeks priced at �6.00 per head which is to include food, chips and sandwiches!

Where we run

We meet for a club run every Wednesday evening at Penrith Rugby Club, Winters Park..

In winter we start our session at 6.45pm with a warm-up and stretch indoors. Then we organise runs of varying distances and speeds around the streets of Penrith. There are excellent changing and shower facilities at the Rugby Club and we then meet informally in the club bar.

On summer evenings we are more likely to go out into some of the glorious countryside nearby or further into the Pennines and the Lakeland fells. Then we usually find a pub.

What we do
Eden Runners have many different interests, including:

• fell running
• road running
• cross-country
• orienteering
• mountain marathons
• adventure racing
• triathlon and other multi-sport events
  

We also organise a number of successful events through the year, including:

• Haweswater half marathon (March)
• Blencathra fell race
• New streets race (December)

We are also a very sociable bunch - after our Wednesday night run we wind down with a drink at the Rugby Club. At the weekend meny of our members can be seen taking part in many of the local road and fell races in and around the area
